evaluating the value of refractive surgery,
please consider the costs of alternative
treatments. For instance, the approximate
annual cost for contact lenses, solutions,
insurance and periodic replacement is
$500. Additionally, the approximate costs
for glasses can run at least $150.When
considering the relative value of refractive
surgery, a decrease or elimination of
these costs adds to the value of the procedure.
Prior
to any surgery, it is vital for all potential
candidates to have a comprehensive eye
examination including refraction. This
consultation is complimentary. The exam
includes computerized topography analysis
of the cornea, medical eye evaluation
(includes refraction), dilated exam and
refractive surgery risk/benefit review.
