Sydney L. Tyson, MD, MPH is a Co-Founder of Eye Associates as well as Founder and President of SurgiCenter of Vineland. He is a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania. Dr. Tyson is a graduate of Harvard Medical School and Harvard School of Public Health in Boston, MA. He completed his ophthalmology residency at the Wills Eye Hospital in Philadelphia.

Dr. Tyson has lectured at many national and international conferences, Wills Eye Hospital, and local physicians' locations. He is a contributing editor for Evidence Based Eye Care, a journal for Ophthalmologists, since 1998. Dr. Tyson is an Attending Surgeon at Wills Eye Hospital where he lectures and teaches surgery to its residents. As a Board Certified Ophthalmologist, Dr. Tyson’s special areas of expertise include Dropless Cataract Surgery, Custom Cataract Surgery, Custom LASIK, IntraLase Bladefree LASIK, and Minimally Invasive Glaucoma Surgery.

Dr. Tyson currently serves as a Board of Director and is Treasurer for Cataract and Primary Eye Care Service, Ltd., Wills Eye Hospital. He is an active member in many professional and community organizations.

12/86-1/87 Traveled to University of the Phillipines, Manila to design and implement a hospital based study which evaluated the feasibility of impression cytology in the diagnosis of early xerophthalmia. Work done under the guidance of Dr. Vitaliano Bernardino, Professor of Ophthalmology at the Wills Eye Hospital, Philadelphia and Dr. Conrado Lorenzo, Chancellor of the University of the Phillipines, Manila.

9/85-6/86 Worked on a randomized, placebo-controlled trial designed to determine whether 325mg aspirin taken on alternative days reduces the risk of developing cataract. Work done with Dr. Charles Hennekens, Associate Professor of Medicine Harvard Medical School.

9/81-1/82 Senior honors thesis involving the elucidation of the DNA binding properties of the ral polypeptides of Haemophilus influenza mutants. Work done with Dr. Sol Goodgal, Associate Professor of Medicine, University of Pennsylvania.
