Alice L. Williams, M.D.Alice L. Williams, M.D. is a graduate of Temple University School of Medicine Philadelphia, PA. She completed her ophthalmology residency at the Wills Eye Hospital in Philadelphia as well as her fellowship in Glaucoma. She has been a contributing author for European Journal of Ophthalmology, Survey of Ophthalmology, Journal of Glaucoma, and the Glaucoma Section in the Seventh Edition of the Wills Eye Manual. She is an Attending Surgeon at the Wills Eye Ophthalmology Clinic where she lectures and teaches surgery to its residents. As a Board Certified Ophthalmologist, Dr. Williams’s special areas of expertise include Minimally Invasive Glaucoma Surgery and Cataract Surgery.

Where were you born and raised?

I was born in Chicago, Illinois and raised in Indian Harbour Beach, Florida.

What is your favorite part about being an ophthalmologist?

This is a very exciting time in ophthalmology and especially the field of glaucoma. There are more treatment options than ever before to preserve and restore vision. I love getting to know my patients and creating individualized eye care plans to give them the best vision possible.

How many years have you been practicing ophthalmology?

I have completed 4 years of post graduate training in ophthalmology including 1 year of specialized training in glaucoma.

Favorite thing to do outside of work?

I love spending time with my family and especially my son. We like to stay active by hiking, biking, and playing tennis.
